Veronica Magar (Dr. Ph, MPH, MA) is the Team Leader for Gender, Equity and Human Rights at the World Health Organization (WHO). She leads a dynamic team of technical experts to supportWHO programs and policies to ensure that ‘no one is left behind’.Dr Magar is committed to linking women’s leadership and organization change to transformation on the ground. Before joining WHO, in 2013, she held the position of Executive Director of r e a c h (research and action for change), based in Delhi, India leading community-based research, policy analysis, and providing technical support worldwide. Since 2000, she has worked with UN agencies, NGOs, and governments in more than 30 countries across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East to address gender inequality and human rights. Prior to that Dr Magar worked at international NGOs including CARE where she led work on gender mainstreaming, violence against women, research and evaluation in women’s health. Dr Magar earned her MPH and MA at UCLA and DR PH the University of NorthCarolina, Chapel Hill.
