Scott C. Ratzan MD, MPA is a Senior Fellow at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business & Government at the Harvard Kennedy School. He serves on the Board of Global Health for the U.S. National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine, and is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Health Communication: International Perspectives.
Dr. Ratzan has three decades of pioneering accomplishments in the U.S. and globally in health communication, health literacy and strategic diplomacy with positions in the private, governmental, NGO and academia. Prior to his 16 years in the private sector, he designed the framework for the Bureau of Global Health communication efforts at US Agency for International Development (USAID) in Washington DC. From 2010-2013 he co-chaired (with Tore Godal) the UN Secretary General’s Every Woman Every Child Innovation Working Group.
His academic appointments include Adjunct Professor at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and Tufts University School of Medicine.
