Dr. Willgerodt is the Associate Professor and Vice-Chair of Education in the Department of Family and Child Nursing at the University of Washington, Seattle.
Dr. Willgerodt’s scholarship focuses on interprofessional education (IPE) and collaborative practice. She is a national leader in practice transformation and IPE faculty development, through the Train-the-Trainer Interprofessional Team Development Program, and currently co-leads an academic-practice partnership developing community-based teams in medically underserved/rural areas in Washington State.
Dr. Willgerodt is a master TeamSTEPPS trainer and consults extensively on developing IPE curricula and evaluation. In addition to her interprofessional work, Dr. Willgerodt conducts innovative research in school nursing workforce and care coordination issues.
In 2018, she and her colleagues published the first nationally representative study that provides estimates of the number of school nurses in the US. Dr. Willgerodt is an associate editor for the Journal of School Nursing and research advisor for the National Association of School Nurses.
