Malayah Harper

Malayah Harper joined the World YWCA as the General Secretary in 2016, a global social movement working for the empowerment, leadership and rights of women, young women and girls in 120 countries and 20,000 communities.

Malayah has worked for 20 years internationally in the area of social justice and equality. Prior to joining the World YWCA, as the UNAIDS Global Chief for Gender Equality and Diversity Division, Malayah led and elevated global political commitment for Women, Girls and HIV, and worked across UN Member States resulting in new commitments at the Commission on the Status of Women.

Malayah is a Canadian and British national and holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Development with a major in Anthropology from the University of Toronto and a Masters in Health Policy, Planning and Financing in the Developing World from the London School of Economics (LSE) and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSTHM).
