Katherine States Burke, MBA, MSc, is Deputy Director of Stanford’s Center for Innovation in Global Health.
The Center works across Stanford’s seven schools and with global partners, focusing on women's leadership, forced migration, and climate and health. In 2017, Ms. Burke and Director Michele Barry created and led the inaugural Women Leaders in Global Health conference.
A magna cum laude graduate of Harvard University, Ms. Burke began her career as a journalist. More recently, she pursued a longstanding interest in health, earning an MSc in Global Health Sciences from UCSF, where she created the Centers of Excellence Project to strengthen the capacity of low- and middle-income countries to do research, train health professionals, and develop leaders. She also holds an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management. Ms. Burke serves on the Board of Dean’s Advisers at the Harvard Chan School of Public Health.
