Gerri McHugh

Gerri has held leadership roles in the not-for profit sector for 20 years, advising on, developing and implementing strategies for organizational reform and growth. She has an MBA and an MSc in International Development and is co-founder and Director of Global Health Film, a not-for-profit that uses documentary film to communicate neglected, global health stories and to effect change for social good.

The organization covers all areas of global health including mental health, emerging pandemics, sexual health, planetary health, non-communicable disease, refugee and migrant health, health systems and health economics; the annual two-day Global Health Film Festival brings together 400 health professionals with other global health experts and film-makers to explore global health issues through film, animation and virtual/immersive reality.

As Director, Gerri has overseen and advised on the transition of Global Health Film from project to registered charity, including the development of a new governance structure and the recruitment of the Board of Trustees.
