Alpha Pokharel

Alpha has a Bachelor in Nursing Science, Postgraduate Diploma in Women's study, a Diploma in Global Health, and will be joining the University of Tokyo for her Masters in Global Health from 2019 April.

She worked as a Nurse in Maternal and Child Health Department of Nepal Government for 6 years and has currently been working as a Safe Motherhood Department Head in a Primary Health Center. She likes herself to be called a Health Activist and Feminist as she is involved in advocacy of issues related to it in her country. She also worked as a District coordinator for a NGO named Nepal Medical Volunteer society and also within the job worked as a Trainer and Clinical Instructor.

She was awarded Wells Mountain Initiative Scholarship for her undergraduate degree and was awarded batch topper for the Undergraduate degree also. She is passionate about Maternal and Child Health Issues in Nepal and other Low Income Country., and aims to reduce the Home Delivery rate, i.e around 41% in Nepal and Maternal Mortality Rate, in Nepal as well as globally.
